We are the Sundbergs and we love the rain.
My name is Kris with a K – and I like walking though fallen maple leaves, drinking watered-down juices, the taste of sawdust, listening to crickets, and staying up irresponsibly late working on new ideas. I hate florescent lights, wet sponges, and plastic that has been damaged by the sun.
This is my beautiful wife, Cathy… she likes saving worms on the sidewalk after a rainstorm, the smell of orange tree blossoms, and the way the water sounds when it crackles on the bottom of a boat. Cathy writes most of the blogs because I am not as talented as she is. We are a team in everything we do. From cooking dinners at night, to mt biking together, to teaching a class of 3yr olds at church, to photography. I hold the big camera and Cathy holds the big stick. I’ve learned from experience that her ideas are better than mine, so if she tells me to get on the ladder, or shoot a little closer, I listen. We love being a team because it is so much fun hanging out together. She’s sunshine on a rainy day, and people just automatically fall in love with her. My old friends come over to see her now, and tell her more personal stuff than I can know.
She also keeps a great and humorous family blog for us — Krisncath.blogspot.com — but this isn’t supposed to be about Cathy, this is about US and our photography, and the experience we want YOU to have working with us. I hope you like our pics and that my style appeals to your eyes and emotions. What I can’t show you very well is the chemistry I have in working with you. Good pictures are a lot more than technical prowess and artsy colors and lines. We are capturing moments and emotions. We want you to feel comfortable enough with us that you can stick out your tongue, then give us the look of death, or shout in jubilation. We want to be friends first, then photographers. This is the best way to really capture someone. We want to meet you, hang out with you (if you’ll let us) and get to know you.
