I’m always asked what kinda camera do I recommend, what lens should i get?… So I’m going to break it down with My wish list, my recommended wish list for you and some sites that i use to sell prints or am currently looking into. If you end up using these links to purchase anything, it will help me out and I will be greatly indebted to you. B&H is a great place to buy from as well as Costco if you buying lower end stuff or memory cards. Bottom line is DO NOT buy from any place that has prices that seem to good to be true becuase they ARE. Especially in the electronics industry. I’ll never forget my first run in with a shady Brooklyn photo store who shipped me merchandise I never ordered. Thank goodness i didn’t open that package.
I’ll start off saying i’m a Canon guy. Nikons are great, but I love Canon’s for a few reasons…
My favorite lens is the 50mm F 1.4 – I desperately want the F1.2 if i had the funds… and if you want to test the water since you don’t trust me (or have the budget yet) please just get the $100 F1.8 version. It won’t last as long or blur the background as much as the other options but you will fall in love with it.
This lower cost body will give you everything you need. I started off shooting weddings with a body that wasn’t nearly as good as this one. Body’s are the fasted changing aspect of digital photography as well so please put your money into good lenses and not wasted on more megapixels. The upgrade that makes the most difference is when you move to a full sensor or Full Frame. you can get a full frame canon 5D mark I (what i shoot with currently) for about 1600 on the used market
