rancho bernardo inn WeddingI was ready for the worst.. outdoor wedding and backyard reception and it’s starting to rain right as we head out for bridals on the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn  – with no sign of letting up. It’s a San Diego brides worst nightmare! Emily made the most of it, swapping the schedule, and doing a first look in the rain that had the whole bridal part teared up.  Then off to the ceremony at Maderas Golf Club which made for an incredible backdrop with the dark clouds.  They even drove us around in a golf cart to find the perfect location for coupes shots.  The rain held back for a perfect evening at Christian’s family home.  These two are salt of the earth.

We love us some Shane and Kissa!  They are fun, full of energy  and with Kissa’s infectious smile, Shane never stood a chance.  They both love volleyball so naturally it’s where they first met.   As opponents, their competitive sides got the better of them at this first chance meeting and it looked like this love was doomed to the penalty box…oh wait that’s hockey.   Volleyball, however, turned out to be their language of love and so began their story.  Kissa and Shane got married at the incredibly gorgeous Los Angeles Temple and we couldn’t be MORE THRILLED to share their images with you.333 KSSlideshow046 395 KSSlideshow059-EditBehold the infectious smile…
KSSlideshow047-EditThis could very well be the coolest wedding party we have ever worked with.  We fell instantly in love with some of the ladies incredible tattoo artwork!

Hmmm, could it have been his sheer brut superhero strength that broke it and not us after all…ummm yeah, we are going to go with that. KSSlideshow030 310 KSSlideshow038Let us take another moment to reflect on how RAD this party is!

Heidi had no idea what she was getting into as we pulled off the road 10 minutes from my house.  I had just found this old abandoned house while shooting engagements (coming soon) with Kirstin and Steve and wanted to really contrast the beatiful dress with some grunge and dirt and see if we could get to see a new different side of Heidi.   Well we climbed fences, walked through the woods, and then over rusty nails and rotting floorboards (yes i fell through twice!) to capture this shot.  But man the exhilarating feeling of getting the image I saw in my minds eye  as I layed in bed that morning, was worth every risk.   I’m glad Heidi’s favorite is mine too since we took a TON of images.  I’ve noticed I like to go all out for bridal shoots and get some really fun images to show off the bride.  Def one of my favorite types of shoots that i don’t get to do all that often these days.   Thank you Heidi for being so willing to go outside your comfort zone.  You nailed it!   Thanks to My Splendid Sentiments for the killer bouquet as well and Heidie’s Maid of Honor for saving the dress on a few occastions, and helping out so much!  Hope you enjoy the images as much as I do.

I probably should have stayed in CA during this wedding since my wife was not sure if she’d be buying me an emergency plan ticket home to help deliver our new baby.  She almost did buy me a ticket the night before the wedding, but it turned out to be the braxton hicks luckily.  oh and the baby was born all well.  I’ll post on that next.  So Jared and Mandy are a perfect match.  I know because I was Jared’s roomate for about 3 years in college.  An he is still the exact same person.  Love it.   We had a blast even though it was like 15 degrees out and Mandy was barely able to smile.  Great style – and the Salt Lake City Hardware building made for an amazing reception venue.  We took some pictures out in California after their engagement session, but I’ll have to post those later.
