rancho bernardo inn WeddingI was ready for the worst.. outdoor wedding and backyard reception and it’s starting to rain right as we head out for bridals on the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn  – with no sign of letting up. It’s a San Diego brides worst nightmare! Emily made the most of it, swapping the schedule, and doing a first look in the rain that had the whole bridal part teared up.  Then off to the ceremony at Maderas Golf Club which made for an incredible backdrop with the dark clouds.  They even drove us around in a golf cart to find the perfect location for coupes shots.  The rain held back for a perfect evening at Christian’s family home.  These two are salt of the earth.

Destination Weddings are always a fun challenge! Let’s just say that despite my concerns with shooting back-to-back weddings (San Diego to Las Vegas), less than 12 hours apart, all stress was soon forgotten when I met up with the awesome couple. A gorgeous bride, her dashing groom, the day was perfect.  My wife found an ideal little nook with beautiful natural light for their first-look (coming soon!)

Taking a stretch Hummer to our off-location shoot added to the glamour of the event. Crashing at midnight in the Mandalay Bay hotel, after it was all over, was the most satisfying feeling I’ve had all year. Check out the sneak peek below for a taste of this couple’s awesomeness :)

These are the kind of pictures that just make you exhale, they are so awesome. What a perfect beach wedding! I have been excited to make this post for weeks. A BIG shout out to  Natalie Williams, the photographer, who tag teamed with me again and totally ROCKED it. The pictures speak for themselves. Get ready to exhale. And congrats Brigit and Brad!

I hate catch up blogging, but sometimes the wedding season requires it.  What a summer and spring it’s been.  I dread posting all these shots until I get om my MAC at 11:00 at night and then I can’t stop.  There must be meetings out there for people with my problems.  well, this wedding will always stand out to me (mostly bc the ferris wheel) but the whole design and feel of the wedding was outstanding.  Huge props to Kirstin’s mom Rene` and their awesome floral designer…   Design By Aubrey.   I first met Kirstin while shooting her Srn pictures, which feels like last year.  Maybe i’ll slip one of those pics on here if she doesn’t kill me!   She grew up in San Clemente and met Steven at BYU.  He’s working his way to dental school and then they plan on settling down in AZ (why not San Clemente I have no idea!)  They were such a darling couple… can I say that?  From engagements to wedding, they had a great vintage flare and were willing to do ANYTHING for a good picture.  We found this old house in the woods with the roof falling in and decided to climb some fences (yes in the pink dress) to check it out.  It has become one of fav locations.   Sorry again about getting your car all muddy Kirstin…

Let’s start with my favorite shot of the day –

I probably should have stayed in CA during this wedding since my wife was not sure if she’d be buying me an emergency plan ticket home to help deliver our new baby.  She almost did buy me a ticket the night before the wedding, but it turned out to be the braxton hicks luckily.  oh and the baby was born all well.  I’ll post on that next.  So Jared and Mandy are a perfect match.  I know because I was Jared’s roomate for about 3 years in college.  An he is still the exact same person.  Love it.   We had a blast even though it was like 15 degrees out and Mandy was barely able to smile.  Great style – and the Salt Lake City Hardware building made for an amazing reception venue.  We took some pictures out in California after their engagement session, but I’ll have to post those later.
